Essential Information Regarding AI Non-Usage in Space Monsters Magazine

Space Monsters Magazine will not accept any AI art or text.

And it goes without saying but....No AI Content is allowed in the Magazine itself.

Space Monsters Magazine will not accept any AI art or text.

As an AI Engineer by trade in my primary job, I can easily spot anything that is AI generated and we will not accept it.

As my AI Agent - AI Jeannie would say "It's all from carbon-based units, you dig?"

So, I do want to point out that simply because I happen to be a leading AI Engineer, and the fact that I own Babel Fish AI, and the fact that I do this professionally, and even create AI generated marketing materials for this, and other products/titles, does not reflect the actual contents of the published material itself. The magazine cover will be human created, and all articles, ads and art within the magazine (as with other products from other publishers and production companies that we promote) will be human created 100% without any usage of AI on any level. I think that should make things pretty clear....

So please, if you're going to submit material for the magazine, make sure that it is entirely your creation, without any usage of AI.

Artists, and people in general; can be an ignorant lot and think that simply because an ad was created by an AI Agent or that promotional materials were generated by an AI Agent, or that someone who is an editor of a magazine who also happens to be an AI Engineer, that it means AI will be allowed or utilized. This is actually not the case at all.

Only human created content, text and art will be allowed for inclusion in our magazine (as is the case with the other products and productions that we promote from other entities)

Our sponsorship and involvement in productions and products by use of AI in promotional materials does not reflect the content therein. So don't be an idiot. 🤣 AI is a great tool for marketing, and for many other aspects, but the creation of printed materials, such as magazines is not one of them. That must solely be done by human beings, in order to create anything unique, and of great value to our readers. So, as a result, don't be fooled into thinking that because I also work in AI, that you can use AI in your submissions. You can't. No AI, at all is allowed for the magazine itself. And this includes the creation, and deployment of any advertisements, etc. Integrity is a long-forgotten art, but an art that will take you far in life, and having the integrity to handle things in this way enables us to correctly state to our sales outlets, shops, and other parties who carry our product, that SM is 100% human created, unique content, not found anywhere else. Besides, I love AI, but for a project such as Space Monsters Magazine, it would take the fun out of creating it. Part of the fun of making a magazine such as this is the challenge of doing it all by ourselves. That's why myself, our staff, our publisher, and distributor have all agreed that AI will not be used in the magazine itself.

This has not been a problem yet, I am simply nipping it in the bud, as the old saying goes.

I have received an article, which we rejected because it was AI generated, and they tried to lie to me and say that they created it. They did not. I can even tell the LLM model they used.

So, I write this for a couple of reasons.

One is to point out that Space Monsters Magazine will be 100% human created in content

And while I can't speak for our sponsors directly, I believe that is their sentiment as well, but that would have to be addressed directly by them.

There is a foolish fear of replacement that many humans are feeling which is sad, but we will overcome this.

I am an AI Engineer, I specialize in Neural Networks, Deep Learning and Generative AI. It's what I do. I created AI Jeannie, the world's first, fully fleshed out AI personality. I own Babel Fish AI, Reel Intelligence Brief, and AI Jeannie, and I do in fact do artificial intelligence work in the film industry, but as far as Space Monsters Magazine goes, it must be human created content from cover to cover, without any usage of artificial intelligence. It must all be genuinely created by talented human beings, because for a magazine such as this to make an impact, it takes solid human creativity, and ingenuity. If I catch you submitting AI generated content, I will not accept submissions from you in the future, and your submission will go in the waste basket.

But, with that said, the goal of Space Monsters Magazine is to do a good job at what we do with human ingenuity within the pages themselves.

So what am I looking for? Well, really it's a color cover and back with a very  nice artistically created cover. I want to harken back to the painted covers of Basil Gogos for example. Give it that retro, but refined feel.

The inside pages are black and white with black and white photos and art.

The content I am looking for is as follows:

Great ideas for a first issue cover and subsequent covers

A dedicated column awarded for classic sci fi and horror films. Focus on the making of and synopsis of the films.

A dedicated column awarded for independent film productions

Namely, I want to cover new ans upcoming indies in the horror and sci fi genres that get little, to no exposure. I'd like the articles to focus on the making of and synopsis, etc.

A dedicated column about practical makeup FX. I want a dedicated column geared towards fikm professionals with interviews of FX artists and also articles about the creation and deployment of practical special makeup FX in classics as well as new and indie productions

We will also accept filler material for other articles and one-off contributions

I want an 8 page comic strip for inclusion in every magazine. Something along the lines of Gore Shriek, Heavy Metal, etc. The theme should encapsulate both horror and sci fi and can be graphic in tone and nature. Entirely human created, of course. I will give free reign on this, just submit your idea and perhaps script for approval along with an art sample.

The tone of the magazine should be fun and playful and focus primarily on the art of moviemaking in both classic and new indie releases.

An in-house critic is an idea and I will accept submissions for that as well.

Each article and comic, along with the ads will be introduced and closed by an illustration and pun-filled quip by Grimaldi, who is the host of the magazine.

To see what I mean, just look at the story intros for old Warren mags like Eerie, Creepy, Vampirella and the EC comics such as Tales From The Crypt.

So that in a nutshell is the scoop on Space Monsters Magazine and I covered our AI usage as a whole.

There is a business and a newsletter helmed by AI and yeah, it does great promos too! But these other entities, including SM are not AI. So make sure to send me your best stuff, make sure that you do not use AI, at all. As it would go in the trash bin, and you won't be allowed to submit in the future. Space Monsters Magazine is AI free from cover to cover.

Send submissions to me: Jason @ spacemonsterzmag@gmail.com

Sincerely, Jason Brazeal
